Reading and writing are a very beneficial habits that should be adopt by people. Although people are aware of the advantages and benefits that can be gained from reading and writing, people still tend to spend more time on other activities like playing video games. In addition, the COVID-19 outbreak has brought many disruptive effects on our life where people prefer to stay at home, and they are lacking activities to do. Besides that, the awareness about the danger of COVID-19 among the community remain low. Therefore, a project called �Kids of Malaysia Initiative for COVID-19 Stories� or KOMICS is being introduced. This project will collect stories written by children and published them after being proper editing. As people tend to stay at home, an online management system called Online KOMICS Management System can act as an online platform that can help the KOMICS team to manage all the works created by the children. All the children work will be passed among the assigned member to be edited, translated, narrated, animated, illustrated and published.
KOMICS will be 3-layer architecture system where the user interface (Presentation Layer), the server (Logic Layer) and database (Data Access Layer) are separated. For the user interface, it is created by using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript based on Bootstrap 5. For the logic layer, it is built fully by using PHP and hosted on server. For the last layer, Firebase is chosen to implement the system because it is faster and more flexible compare to SQL database.
