Halal industry has a great potential and huge popularity covering local and international markets. According to the Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC). Malaysia�s Halal industry market value is expected to achieve approximately RM614.36 billion by 2025. 70 per cent of the market value is contributed by the food sector. This growth is not only fueled by high demand from the Muslim population but also by the non-Muslim who aware of the benefits brought by the Halal products. In Malaysia, Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) is the official agency which responsible for the Islamic affairs including Halal certification. In most circumstances, public able to check the Halal status of foods and premises by accessing to the official website. The searching via website is quite tedious, complex, and not user friendly. Therefore, this work bridges the gap by proposing mobile application namely MyHalal (MH) which significantly improved the current method. This application will assist users in identifying and verifying Halal status of foods and food premises with the detailed Halal information in convenient way. In this context, MH also introduces barcode scanner to check the product listing in JAKIM with the camera access. Besides that, users also can report issue when they found any misconduct about Halal certification. Hence, MH is expected to help users to make an informed decision when shopping for their Halal foods as well as looking for a restaurant. This mobile application is also developed together with the web-based application as the backbone for the system administrator to manage and to configure technical matters. It is expected that this application will be able to provide a more user-friendly platform to the users and able to ease JAKIM in managing information and help to spread the awareness about halal.
