E-Print

E-Print is an online printing management web application that connect students and printing shops. First, it enables students to upload their document to an online server anytime anywhere and configure their printing preferences such as colour or monochrome before self-collecting the documents at their desire time. Thus, students no longer have to present themselves in shop and save energy and time by performing all the necessary printing process online. E-Print also have the delivery options so students can wait at the selected location to collect their documents.

Meanwhile, printing shop can manage their online printing service efficiently using E-Print. In the backend, scheduling algorithm are running to sort the order queue based on collection time factor and further load balancing to divide the tasks to different printer. Number of machine can be adjusted by the shop to cater their capacity. Furthermore, a real time dashboard and notification alert will also show the status of document to printing shop and students. In dashboard, different colour code are used to classify the priority of each documents to be printed. The shop also can change setting such as printing fees which is to be displayed to students.

Technical wise, E-Print is developed in Go language and using Postgres as the database. RabbitMQ is used as the message broker between client services and shop services and allow the system designed in microservice architecture. Other than that, WebSocket is utilised for some communication between frontend and backend to achieve automatic real time display of data. In social impact, E-Print fits itself well in new social distancing normal brought by covid-19 and our national agenda 'Transformation to Digital of Tomorrow'.
