CarSense: Car Management Application
Transportation. The action of transporting someone or something or the process of being transported. Centuries ago, transportation is essential to move from Point A to Point B as it enables communication, trade and other forms of exchanges between people, which in turn establishes civilizations. The very same concept still applies to the world we live in nowadays as transportation plays a vital role in globalization and economic growth. The evolution of transportation has gone through many trials and tribulations as time passes from the horse carts that were used long ago to the planes in the air and cars on the road. In todays age of technology, we often take transportation for granted. We always expect to get to our destination, but do not normally reflect on how and the cost of it. Hence, problems such as petrol consumption expenses, servicing appointments and costs arise. These problems rises up exponentially as the number of vehicles per household increases. This Personal Car Management Application is an android application that utilizes essential inputs from users such as petrol consumption expenses, scheduled service maintenance, maintenance costs to have a petrol consumption tracker and auto calculates the service appointments and costs. An additional useful feature is that the application will also display to the user the nearest petrol station based on the users current location so minimum petrol is used to get there. Moreover, a scheduling appointment feature is implemented to remind users for the next maintenance service and preferred service centre. It is hoped that this application can be a handy application to be utilized so that users can efficiently and responsibly use their mode of transportation.
