Nur Elia Erisa connects the human world with technologies to improve the humanity. At the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Elia is majoring in Intelligent System and minoring in Psychology. She learned the integration of smart system using various techniques and algorithms to improve the technologies' architecture. Recently, she finished a project on smart watering system using sensors network. She learned how to make an IOT system with android application. Elia is currently finishing her Bachelor of Computer Science. She is actively looking for a developer role in the near future.

Intelligent Nursery Watering System using Sensors Network

Intelligent Nursery Watering System using Sensors Network is a project that is developed using IoT based on the Arduino platform. This project is an intelligent plant watering system with a built-in pump and sensors that allow the gardener or farmer to water their plants automatically. This system will analyse the data input from sensors and pre-input from the user (plants type/ behaviour) before the system begin to water the plants. This system is a new invention from current system in Malaysia that still using automated watering system based on timer setup. This project consists of IoT development using Maker Uno and sensors (soil moisture, rain, temperature and humidity).
The data from the sensors will be uploaded to a web server through the control centre. The back-end system will process the data and the analysed data will determine how and when the plants need to be watered. The output of the pump will be generated based on the rules in processing phase. For pre-input data, users customize the watering behaviour themselves either by setting the parameter themselves or using the default value that will be added in the system which is based on the developer research. The front-end for pre-input data can only be accessed using an Android application.
The unique approach for this system is user can monitor the status of plants and watering scheduled in real-time. The user interface (UI) in the Android application will be designed to utilise graphic data representative. The data scheduling will be displayed graphically for daily data and monthly data. The data can be retrieved anytime and anywhere with this system.
