SMARTS KiDAM - (SMARTS Kidney Dialysis and Management)

Due to the increases of kidney failure cases every year and lack of awareness of kidney failure patients in maintaining good health. Emisyahirah was concerned on the issue and she did survey and read some materials to find information and solutions to reduce the worse effect to kidney failure�s patient. Finally, she came out with an idea specifically offers to Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) in monitoring their kidney failure�s patient. Hereby, she developed and designed a Smarts Kidney Dialysis and Management (SMARTS KiDaM) application as an alternative platform to assisting kidney failure�s patient in managing their dietary plan and personal treatment as well as helping Healthcare professional (Dietitian & Doctor) in monitoring their patient.

This system incorporates dual-system technologies which offers web-based and mobile application. Web is designed specifically for the use of Healthcare professional and admin for management and monitoring. While mobile application is designed to be used by patient because it easier to be accessed everywhere and anytime. The process of developing this system is by using agile development through six processes which are analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. For the system architecture, SMARTS KiDAM requires internet connection to make sure all the users get latest updates from the system through a server and single database.

Among the features provided in the system such as allows patient to plan their food intake, record personal treatment for personal dialysis and urine test and make appointment with dietitian. Thus, from the patient records, Healthcare professional able to analyze by view and monitor patient�s food dietary, personal treatment and make appointment with patient. This project seems provides many benefits especially in the field of health and give solution to help improving patient in helping manages their health care.
