Sherrylin John was born and raised in Kuching, Sarawak. She is a final year student at Universiti Sains Malaysia where she is pursuing in a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Management. In her studies, Sherrylin is focusing on skills and knowledge in information systems practices while also furthering her knowledge on management. Recently, she had finished a research paper on predicting the effect of medical fake news related to COVID-19 on user’s habit change.

Nowadays, fake news related to COVID-19 are spreading very fast and the social media platform plays an important role during this pandemic situation as it enables people to view, search and share the news as well as their point of view globally. Therefore, the aim of this study is to classify COVID-19 fake news from the existing dataset and to identify the user’s habit change before and after towards using the social media for finding an information related to COVID-19. A conceptual framework was proposed in this study to show the overview of the factors towards using social media, the awareness on the misinformation related to COVID-19 and how this could affect the user’s habit change. In this study, there are several methods will be used in the data classification process as well as the empirical study and quantitative analysis on factors towards using social media.
