Personalized Workout Monitoring
Physical fitness is becoming more important around the world as a necessary means to stay healthy. However, current applications do not always meet user demands. People want to have more details available to them about the exercise they are doing. Research shows that in terms of exercise and working out, people want applications that can ease their progress tracking or routine scheduling. The findings show that applications mainly used today are tracker applications and workout applications. Trackers applications track users goals or body conditions (walking, swimming). Workout applications help users make a workout routine from all of the listed workouts in the application. This shows that users will need multiple applications to workout and track their goals. Additionally, these workout applications do not give recommendations to the user, but rather provide them with a long list for the user to filter through manually.
The personalized workout monitoring system Gains will be a combination of tracking user goals such as tracking applications and setting up user workout routines similar to workout applications. First users get a personalization of difficulty level and location. The difficulty level will be used to estimate how experienced the user is in working out and if they will be able to perform some more complex workout routines. Location (home, gym, home gym, park)will be used to estimate the equipment that will be available to the user at that location With these two criteria the system will then be able to recommend workout routines to the user. This to ease user selection of workout routines thereby potentially improving on overall user experience. Guides will be provided for each workout to reduce the risk of injury.
