Gosvindraj is a Computer Science student currently majoring in A.I. at Universiti Sains Malaysia. From an early age, he has expressed high enthusiasm in Intelligent Systems, provoking a range of academic projects throughout his studies such as his recent work on designing a web-based application project which improves volunteer management system by using the fuzzy ranking method in order to evaluate optimal volunteer-task allocation.

He hopes to expand his interests in shaping the world, integrating automation to help ease daily life tasks alongside the ever-growing technological advancements and he is determined to have bright career prospects in the A.I. field.

Volunteer Task Allocation System

Volunteer Task Allocation System is a project which focuses on automating volunteer recruitment process by allocating and assigning tasks automatically with the aid of intelligent systems concepts such as the Fuzzy Set Theory.

The system revolves around evaluating and ranking volunteers capabilities based on different types of tasks and its requirements. How the ranking method is put into motion is aimed to ease recruitment process by extracting personal capability ratings from a specific volunteer for a specific task. The fuzzy set operations are performed based on the importance weightage of skills from each volunteer in order to compute the overall ranking against other volunteers. This result will ensure that the most capable and qualified volunteer is allocated the given task. The availability of the volunteers, a factor which could be considered a constraint, could impact the result of the rankings, thus providing a new outcome to the previous.

The application will also act as a centralized platform for all volunteer-related activities; both the volunteers and the hosts are provided with many features as use cases within the application to enhance the overall user experience. Some examples would be creating events and tasks, updating or deleting created events and tasks, updating personal information and skills rating, viewing current and past events that occurred, and many more. Features for system admin would also be provided for the maintenance purpose of the overall application.

The motive behind this project is to simplify the volunteer-based environment and automate several processes which are currently being done manually with maximum human intervention and requiring a lot of time and effort. The effectiveness of the application system allows the volunteer recruitment process to be more time efficient and optimal, whilst at the same time taking immense weight off the event hosts and volunteers.
